A cryptographic key or IV is built from a hardcoded literal passed to SecretKeySpec/IvParameterSpec/PBEKeySpec (CWE-321). An embedded key can be recovered from the artifact, defeating the encryption. Load keys from a KMS/keystore or secrets manager, derive per-record keys with a strong KDF, and generate a fresh random IV per message.
